Schedule 30/60/90-Day Check-Ins with Manager

Purpose

Create a steady cadence for mutual feedback, support, and course-correction during the first 3 months.

Responsible

Supervisor (primary). Owners (Sam/Meghan) attend as noted.

Trigger / Interdependencies

  • New hire’s Google calendar is active.

  • Role expectations and onboarding plan are documented (Week 1).

Directions
  • Create three 60-minute meetings on Day 1 (or within Week 1): ~Day 30, ~Day 60, ~Day 90.

  • Title: ‘[New Hire] — 30/60/90 Check-In’.

  • Invite: New hire and Manager

  • Location: In-person is best

  • Attach: role scorecard, training checklist, first-quarter priorities, and this agenda.

Standard Agenda (60 min)
  1. Warm open (5 min) — wins since last touchpoint.

  2. Self-assessment (10 min) — new hire shares what’s going well/where stuck.

  3. Supervisor feedback (15 min) — strengths observed, gaps, concrete examples.

  4. Priorities & expectations (15 min) — confirm deliverables/milestones through next stage.

  5. Support & resources (10 min) — tools, training  needed.

  6. Close (5 min) — summarize decisions, owners, dates.

Focus by Milestone
  • 30 Days (Foundations)

    • Orientation complete; tools access; key relationships started.

    • Early deliverables: shadowing, draft tasks, basic process fluency.

    • Feedback emphasis: role clarity, onboarding speed, blockers.

  • 60 Days (Contribution)

    • Handling core responsibilities with moderate guidance.

    • Deliverables: on-time, quality trending up; communication norms.

    • Feedback emphasis: independence, prioritization, collaboration.

  • 90 Days (Consistency)

    • Performing most responsibilities independently.

    • Deliverables: reliable outcomes; early ownership/initiative.

    • Decision: confirm fit, set Q2 targets, discuss growth plan.

Prep (send with invite)
  • New hire completes: short self-reflection (wins, challenges, help needed).

  • Supervisor prepares: 3 strengths, 2 growth areas, 1 concrete next step.

  • Bring examples (docs, tickets, client notes) to ground feedback.

After the Meeting

  • Supervisor sends a 2–5 bullet recap with decisions, owners, and dates.

  • Update onboarding tracker; file notes in the personnel folder.

  • Convert action items to To-Dos (Ninety/Asana/etc.).
