Project Basics (Deliverable)

Purpose

The ProjectScoping Basics documentDocument summarizes the Project Alignment meeting and sets the strategy for DORIS's research throughout the project. It serves as a promise to the client and a roadmap for the Ops Team.

    Plan

    Analyze + synthesize project alignment data

    Within each section, affinity group the data. This is done by clustering the pieces of data from each question posed in Project Alignment into subcategories in order to synthesize it. 

    The outcome should be:

    • A revised/updated fuzzy situation statement 
    • Top 3-5 project expectations 
    • Top 5-8 indicators of success atnear the end of the projectsales process. After the meeting is scheduled, the Ops Team can prepare to conduct the meeting.
    Directions

    Example:

    1. The Sales Lead meets with the VP of Operations to identify who on the Ops Team is available to facilitate the Alignment Meeting.
    2. The Sales Lead communicates with the client to find a time when the client leaders and DORIS representatives are available. 
      • Duration: 90 minutes
      • Location: In-person at the client site is preferred
      • Attendees: Client leadership team including final decision-maker, DORIS Sales Lead, DORIS Ops Rep (to facilitate)
    3. TopThe 8-10 questions you will answer during the project 
    4. Any questions leadership asked that are out of scope
    5. Write Project Basics content

      • Follow the template to create a draft of the Project Basics document

      • Make any needed revisions before making the final document

      Execute + Monitor

      Make Project Basics document

      1. Transfer the content into the Project Basics InDesign template
      2. Send the documentattendees to the projectmeeting leador andasks atthe leastclient oneto otherinvite both DORIS team member for copyediting and review.
      3. Make edits.
      4. Tell the project lead when all edits have been incorporated, and export the InDesign file as a PDF.
      5. Upload the PDF fileattendees to the project's Box file under Organization > 1 - Project Launch meeting.
      6. SendThe Sales Lead updates the linkOps toManager once the Projectmeeting Leadis confirmed
