Navigating Ops in a Box
Our process is separated into phases, milestones, steps, and tasks.
Phases
The DORIS process contains seven phases:
Milestones
MilestonesThe makephases are made up theof phases.unique Milestonesmilestones, which include activities (likesuch as meetings and data collection) and deliverables like the ProjectChallenging BasicsDefining document. Each phase has unique milestones.
Steps
Within each part, a cycle of steps is used to organize tasks. These steps always occur in the same order and must be taken consecutively. However, not every milestone will include tasks in all four steps.
1. Start
Establish the strategy for the milestone.
2. Plan
Prepare all the resources you need to be able to do the milestone.
3. Execute
Conduct the milestone.
4. Monitor
Monitor for quality assurance. The monitor step runs concurrently with execution.
5. Finish
Finish the milestone so you can move on to the next milestone.
Tasks
Finally, within each step, milestone, there are tasks. Each task is a piece of work to be done or undertaken. Each task has its own page with the task's purpose, interdependencies, who is responsible for completing the task, step-by-step directions, and links to resources like templates.
