Navigating Ops in a Box
Our process is separated into phases, parts, steps, and tasks.
Phases
The DORIS process contains seven phases:
PartsMilestones
PartsMilestones make up the phases. PartsMilestones include activities (like meetings and data collection) and deliverables like the Project Basics document. Each phase has unique parts.
Steps
Within each part, a cycle of steps is used to organize tasks. These steps always occur in the same order and must be taken consecutively. However, not every element will include tasks in all four steps. In these definitions, assume "the thing" refers to the part (meeting, deliverable, etc.)
1. DefineStart
Establish the strategy for the thing.milestone.
2. DevelopPlan
Prepare all the stuffresources you will need to be able to do the thing.milestone.
3. Deploy + DebugExecute
DoConduct the thingmilestone.
4. monitorMonitor
Monitor for quality assurance.
4.5. DoneFinish
Finish the thingmilestone so you can move on to the next thing.milestone.
Tasks
Finally, within each step, there are tasks. Each task is a piece of work to be done or undertaken.
