Layer 2: Floor Plan
The floor plan layer is for the foundation/structure of the actual building + elements that are not movable (i.e. walls, offices, rooms, etc.)

Directions
- Click into layer 2: Floor Plan
- Select Floor Plan Layer>Exterior Walls in the Object Styles panel.
Tip: If you are using the same style to create several elements, right-click on the style’s name and select “default graphic frame style.”
- Use the Pen tool to trace the outline of the building. Draw with the Pen tool in InDesign
Tip: Hold Shift to create straight lines and 90° angles
- Select “Interior Walls” in the Object Styles panel and continue to use the Pen tool to trace walls and interior fixed elements like pillars.
- Select “Exit to Exterior” in the Object Styles panel and use the Pen tool to draw lines to represent exterior doors.
- If the building has stairs or elevators, open the CC Libraries panel and open the DORIS Usability Library. Drag the elevator or stair elements onto the floor plan, place them, and resize them appropriately.
- Drag the Street Name element from the library, place it, and label the bordering streets (if known) to help orient readers.
- Lock the layer.
