Would You Rather...

Purpose:
  • Explore personal preferences
  • Illustrate the diversity of preferences in the group

Participants: Groups of any size
Supplies: Number paddles (or determine a way for people to indicate 1 or 2 without paddles)

How to lead it:
  1. Give each participant a paddle.

  2. Explain that we're playing a game of "Would you rather..." about topics in our study context.

    • We know it's a false binary, and that's on purpose. You will have to choose.
  3. Present each pair of choices.

  4. Document the number of participants that choose each option for each pairing.

Example pairings:

more quiet or a more dynamic environment?
clear separation between work zones or a more blended environment?
public recognition or private praise?
scheduled check-ins with leaders or informal, as-needed conversations?
written communication or verbal communication?
